Is there anyone willing to come hang with me in March or April at Mozingo Lake 64468 in Northwest Missouri? it's about an hour trip from Kansas city. I just bought some new gear and I'm *really* excited to try it out and I would love some company. I am female btw so it could turn into a ladies night or whatever. Fishing is very good on the lake this time of year.

Can you provide more details? I have custody of my kids every other weekend and without knowing dates, I can't say yes or no either way. But, it would be great to get out!

well it will definitely be BYOB and bring your own snacks but I can manage to set anyone who comes up with some good meals. I was thinking the weekend of April 3rd if there isn't a foot of snow on the ground.

We've got a good crew that tends to hang together here in the KC area...I'm going to PM a bunch of them with the link to your post. Maybe we can get a "hang" scheduled out that way, if you're willing to help coordinate on that side? Info on the park would be nice...fees, verify that hammock camping is allowed, pick a spot to camp, etc...

It's 10$ per tent per campsite, but in the past I have camped there with others who tent camped and we put two tents and my hammock on one site and they only charged 20$. There are quite a few good campsites that offer trees to hang from, heated/cooled bathrooms that are kept very clean and stocked, and they have hot/cold running water including showers. I will call out there today and ask about hammocks but honestly I don't think they have ever had to deal with a bunch of hangers.

Update I called and they said just 10$ for each site we use would be fine.

I am leaving for an OHT Thru Hike (Plus the Buffalo River Western Section) on March 28 - April XX

Not sure if I can make a March or April trip up to hang out. If you can get some dates nailed in I will see what I can do. I rarely go to a camp site and "Camp" Mostly I go for mileage on the trail. But on occasion I go hang out with my friends in KC at Wood Ridge near Lawrence KS. So I will keep this in mind!

Hey leftorright! I am part of the KC horde Owl mentioned earlier. I am pretty swamped until April but would love to give this one a go. If it works out that this gets planned for April I will try to make this!

Hi! April would be fantastic. Another forum member lives up that way, Hairbear. I've wanted to head his way since he always drives a long ways to hike with those of us on the eastern side of the state. I'll watch the thread and we should try to encourage some of the ladies to come out as well. I know the wives of some of my friends would like to come out more but they don't enjoy being the only lady. Hopefully some will seize the opportunity!
