Guy line length with pole mod?

I have been using a standard 6' guy line setup on my HG Cuben fiber tarp as well as my Mambajamba. Ive seen Shugs videos and watched others who have their tarp staked out higher than I usually do. What length guy lines are you guys running? And would that change with the pole mod if I decide to add it?

Tarp pole mod aside...What length guy lines are you guys running? Would like to see if Im on the right track at 6' before I cut into my 50' hank of cord to redo my lines on my mamajamba to reflective.

The longest lines I have ever used are 6' - never had a problem with being able to pitch any way I want to.

brohawk -- Just thinking about it & checking the math, I would think that 6' is too short; but it depends on the height of your pole(s). I would get some cheaper line (mason line) and experiment with the setup and the angles you want for your guylines. With the poles at 4' & room for knots, the math tells me about 8'. Good luck & let us know how it works out. -- Greg/Grizhicks

My mistake, I was thinking about 'porch mode', not the mod for using the poles to open the space. -- Greg/Grizhicks

I have four extra guylines that I can larks head to my exsisting lines if I want/need longer. Having the shorter lines attached to the tarp makes packing it up a little less of a hassle
