We had to change plans. Lower forge will not support the number of people showing interest.

Yep, we're paddling the Wading River this time. We'll probably paddle the Batsto next month. Gotta find Ratdog's paddle!

Average high for March 28 in Chatsworth, NJ is 56* F, average low is 31. The record high on that date is 77, and the record low is 14. The record rainfall on that date is 1.86 inches.

    Just thought I'd share.

Ratdog, njredneck and I stopped by Bodine to do a little recon. We met some paddlers who said the river was very high and no low spots. Flood state is 15 ft. and the water's at 13.10 flood stage!

We picked out sites 1, 2 & 4, and we'll grab another, if necessary, on 3/28.

What, you didn't want SO to go for a walk with you? I'm hurt.

I jest - though that sounds preferable to spending 4 hours in Target with a crying infant and a moody 3 year old. Which is what I did with my Sunday afternoon. HAH!

Njredneck and I had a business transaction to complete, and Ratdog just came along to give his rat terrier Radar a sniffabout (Ratdog has a rat terrier, who knew). By the way, Radar also has a tinfoil hat. I brought a Jersey Mike's sub and we just hung out for a while to shoot the crap and discuss logistics. We met some guy scouting sites for a drone film about NJ. You could see the recognition in Ratdog's eyes that said, "I've been saying all along the government is surveying us at this very moment with drones!"

I forgot to wear boots, so I had to drive home in wet shoes due to all the slushy snow at Bodine. It was nice to get out though, almost as relaxing as an overnighter!
