Winter Yeti vs Normal Yeti

OK ... I did a search but came up empty.

What's the difference between a yeti and winter yeti?

Weight? Loft? Temp range?

Any info is appreciated.

Yes, yes, and yes.

There aren't final specs on a Winter Yeti yet, since all the ones in distribution so far have been called prototypes.

Animal Control's review of his is probably the most reliable source of info so far.

Thanks, AS. I guess I'm a little paranoid. I'm a cold sleeper. Winter is around the corner. I've got a 3 season yeti and a Golite Ultra 20. I just hate to think about being in single digit temperatures and freezing my a** off. If I could get a 'warmer" yeti now, I think I'd get one. Otherwise, I'll bring along a few more layers.

For me personally, the 3 season yeti is warm to 30's, but i have a JRB no sniv too i use, dunno if it is warmer than the golite or not.

I bought two of the Ultra 20 GoLite quilts so that I could take my brother with me. The loft in them is not impressive. I'm a hot sleeper, and the coldest I've had it to so far is in the mid 50's, which was fine although I needed to vent it to keep from overheating.

If you can find one on sale or lightly used, it will probably be significantly cheaper than the Jacks' quilts, but you can tell this one was made in China. I have no complaints with it so far, but I seriously question whether or not it would make it to 20 degrees in a hammock. On the ground with a good pad, maybe.

What is the loft on that 3 season Yeti? 1.5-2.5"? I would wild guess that for a COLD sleeper, single digit temps are going to be pretty cold without an added pad. I again would GUESS that the 30s is going to be about it for a COLD sleeper. ( So many variables in these temps guesses)

You might be able to pick up another 10 degrees or more by adding a Heatsheet on top of the Yeti, to serve as a radiant/vapor barrier. Plus you might be able to wrap it all the way around the Yeti to serve as added wind block.

3 season yeti is good to the 20's for warm sleepers and to the 30's for cold sleepers

haha im excited for the liner to come out! I hope it comes out before the end of the quarter cuz i want one with the yeti im getting (if i get all A's and B's)

Perhaps eating the liver for it's high fat content would be a help in staying warm? But, would reflective liver really be healthy? How did it become reflective?
