Yes, that is a silpoly that I am using here. I have used fabric tac on everything from rip stop to canvas to vinyl and haven't found anything it wont stick to yet.Originally Posted by FJRpilot
Sticks together some better than others, but always holds. It's strong enough that I patched a hammock and my tent just by gluing on a square piece over the holes and they are still there 2 years later.
It's like Gutermann Textile Glue HT2 but somewhat cheaper.
There are are quite a number of similar products available. Prym Wonder Tape 987125 is only another example.
I found a poll in a German sewing forum. Approx. 37% of almost 400 sewers (no outdoor gear makers) use similar sticker for ease of work.

Sure does make my life easier. I just did a 14' long triple layer seat belt webbing strap for a guy and didnt have to worry about the edges moving around or the end growing longer.
Just stuck a 10,000lb hook on one end, glued it, folded it over 3x and stitched them together. Took about a half hour.
Just ordered some from Amazon. Thanks for the tip, I'm looking forward to trying it.
I think I may get some of the Gutermann version as well to compare. I have to make 2 new tarps and this should make it easier on this long cat cut edges,,,

Just posted a picture of a bag that I made. I completely glued it together with the Fabric Tac before stitching it.
It went together real quick too.
BTW. Wall*Mart sells it in their fabric or crafts dept.
5 years ago I set out to make a hammock. Never worked with ripstop before so I picked some up and also picked up a million pins. Took me about 1 minute to drop everything and try to find a better way. Forgot how I decided on this stuff but I never looked at another pin or paperclip. Still got the pins in a plastic bowl though. I use them to open the bottle tip for the glue.
Yup! You're Welcome. You will never look at another pin after you try it, for sure.
