    Which suspension?

I am currently in the process of making my second hammock and I can't decide on what suspension I want to use. The three I've narrowed it down to are whoopie hooks, dutch buckles, and toggles which I already have. What are y'all's thoughts? Also, are there any other suspensions that y'all would pick over these three?

All of these are great options. It really depends on what you want to get out of the suspension. Are you looking for light weight, ease of use, or just looking to try something different? You could also just try a fixed loop on some amsteel larks headed on the gathered end of a hammock and then work on your knot tying skills at the tree straps. I personally have whoopee hooks on some and still have a few setups with speed hooks, just not using them as much right now. I am still waiting for Dutch to come out with speed hooks 2.0.

I find the dutch buckles with whoopies to be good for me.

I'm a big fan of whoopies and toggles, but I recently switched to a whoopie hook system and I love it! The only drawback is the minimum distance between trees is more than a cinch buckle system or Speed Hooks, or knots.

I would strongly encourage whoopie hooks. Extremely versatile and light. If you don't like them they have a high resale value.

Hey Rob, just received my new hammock with woopie hooks from Sir Dutch. What is the preferred method to keep the continuous loops on the hammock. Sorry to the OP for the thread hijack but it does pertain.

You can either larkshead the continuous loop around the gathered end of the hammock, or you can run it through the end channel of the hammock if it has one.

Also to answer the original question, out of those three I would say whoopie hooks. They are just ridiculously quick and easy to use. They do limit how close the trees you use can be, however. I used to use Dutch buckles but they are really hard to adjust.

Having a small continuous loop on the end of you hammock allows one to bypass the whoopie Sling all together and hang the continuous loop directly on the marlin spike (or Dutch buckle, etc.) on the tree strap. This gives you the adjustability of whoopies, but allows for hanging between close trees when necessary.

WaffleBox nailed the answer - I larks head (double wrap) around the entire whipped end personally. Also, I reverse the whoopiesling and have the adjustable end towards my hammock (which means you have the whoopee hook spliced into the adjustable part of the whoopiesling).

    I hope this helps.

Thanks folks, Dutch ships with his continuous loops lark's headed through the end channel but they loosen easily. I think I will convert to the gathered end knob and double larks head around that. Thanks again to the OP for the space on your thread.
