ME > The Maine Hang III April 24-26

    Thomas Point Beach & Campground

Let's see how many hammock campers, musicians, paddlers, fools, and campfire enthusiasts we can get to join us. Not your thing? Show us how you like to hang out.

In short, it is a great chance to shake down the camping gear between the end of snow and the start of bugs with a fun bunch of folks.

Sunday morning, pancakes will be provided for breakfast and the traditional pre-departure pancake toss.

    ADDITIONAL INFO -
    * This is before the official opening of the campground, which means limited amenities - and limited expense - expecting under $15/night.

    * Because this is mud season, all vehicles must be parked on the pavement. There is ample camping space, so we may designate quiet areas for those who like more tranquility in their hang.

    * If enough musicians are coming, we'll see about setting up the 10x20' canopy, walls, and heater for a picking space.

Post was started by me on behalf of McRat.
Here is what I said about it in the trip report last time..
Thomas Point Beach is a fantastic place to camp as is. It has a scenic tidal water beach, a vintage 70's playground,Fairy Village, grassy fields, and lots and lots of perfect trees.
Add a few things like a meat tent, kayaks, impromptu music and friends and you have yourself a memorable hang.
My four-year-old daughter and I really enjoyed the second annual hang at TPB. Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks again Russ for making this happen!!!! ready for III
