RSBTR Membrane Sil

Hey Kyle, Im looking to make a poncho for the occasional "oh hey, it's starting to rain." Not trekking through downpours, or any other real wet weekends. So that light weight just in case draws me to the membrane material. Would you recommend that or the silpoly2.0?

For something like that I would go with the higher HH silpoly 2.0. To stay dry you need more water resistance when the fabric is brushing up against something or you're putting pressure on it.

I am obviously DIYing it and don't think i am quite ready for Cuben but like you mentioned later that this is a really nice compromise, plus I don't really care for how clear the cuben tarps are. Your information did get another question brewing though. You mentioned that you are still tweaking the membrane sil for a large production run, will that be renamed something like membrane sil 2.0 or will we really not realize a fresh batch has been produced, and with that when do you believe that larger production run of membrane sil will become available to the public to consume and enjoy? Sorry for all the questions, unfortunately it is my nature. Thanks for all your help and patience, again cottage vendor customer service reigns supreme!

You are allowed to ask me all the questions you want . I don't have plans to make large changes for the production run. I think as it sits it's one of the best if not the best UL coated material you can invest in. If anything I will up the waterproofing a tad but not a ton as I don't want to unnecessarily increase the weight just to get a really high HH number. Hopefully I can also get the price down a little to make it more accessible to folks. Let me know if you think of anything else.
