Hello from the White Mts of NH

New hanger here. At 50 I have decided to try something new. I love the outdoors and hope this will give me another way to enjoy being out there. My first hang will be tonight on a small mountain in my town. High of 30 low of 10, this should give me a good taste, if I like it tonight, I should love it anytime.

Welcome Sclboud I'm from the southern part of the state but the White's are my playground. Last year was my first season hanging after a long life of being a ground dweller. I am a 3 season backpacker and can't wait for the temperature to moderate back in the range of my 20* gear.

Welcome from Florida! Beautiful country around you to hang in!
I own property adjacent to White Mountain National Forest and will retire there in a couple more years. I spend all my vacation time there and can't wait to make it permanent. One day our trails will cross.

Groveton, would I ever like to live there! Have been trying to figure out a way to make a living up in that corner of NH for a few years, but, haven't come up with anything. So much great country to explore. You are fortunate! Enjoy the cold, you certainly have it this winter. (and snow) My usual trip in April on the northern Presi slope is going to be with snow shoes, was up on Lowe's Path in Jan. never seen so much snow!
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.
