    Anyone seen the Nube'?

I stumbled upon something this morning I've never seen or heard of. I was wondering if any of the more experienced folks around here have any experience with it. It looks like a good concept and the price is comparable to other shelter solutions I am seeing used.

Hopefully posting these links is ok. The YouTube video shows the shelter setup. I wonder how easy it is to setup? I really like the gear sling.

Seems kinda pricey. And gimmicky. You could do better for less money I'd guess.

It looks like an interesting idea. Tarp & bug net integrated instead of hammock & bug net integrated. With the gear loft underneath, it might be a good ground system using trekking poles??? At first glance seems kinda of pricey. A similar sized tarp + bug net would run at least $50 less. However, a similar sized tarp + a high end hammock with an integrated net would run you about the same or more price wise. I do like that it's just the tarp & bug net together and it appears it will fit most hammocks. That way you can buy a simpler no net hammock at a lower price. The downsides I see are weight & it appears that you'd have to hang it kind of high in order to suspend that gear loft. However, if the gear loft is off the ground, then so is the bug net. When you unzip to get into your hammock, wouldn't you be stepping on the loft and net all the time??? Maybe you can move it out of the way??? I'll have to watch the video again.

It looks cool, but it is absurdly expensive, really heavy, and provides very little coverage.

looks like condensation would be an issue. Interesting idea, but a lot of the problems it attempts to solve really aren't that big a deal with the right setup.

There was one at the last Texas Fall Hang. If standing straight up under your tarp is your primary consideration, you've found your nirvana. If you want ease of installation and protection from sideways blowing rain, there's lots better and cheaper alternatives.

One of the Assistant Scoutmasters in my son's troop has one, he likes it pretty well. One night he got a little wet in a pretty good storm - I think the hang was a little too close for the built in sleeves. He also hangs an ENO Double nest in it so I can't say how it'd work for a longer hammock.

Just wondering how you would put in porch mode.
