I have been hanging for a year, just went to the Mt. Rogers Grayson Highlands hang in Jan. and just came back from the Uwharrie Yates Place hang last weekend. These were my first group hangs, made a lot of new friends plus learned a lot. I spend winters in NC and summers in NH. Coming back to NH around May 1 so I would like to attend this NEHHA event if possible. I am also retired so am interested in backpacking trips during the week (when grandkids aren't able to visit us on the lake) so if any of the NEHHA members are interested, let me know.
I will follow the plans for the May event, hope to see you there

Hey Tim,

Thanks for getting this planning post up. As an alternative to Chesterfield, there is always the DAR in Goshen. Its close to Chesterfield, but it would certainly give Chesterfield a rest and would hold as many of us as need be. I know you and Pete have been there before. We had a small informal hang there in December of 2013 if you recall. You, Pete and John (R3lax) dropped by for the afternoon.

If you want me to check the group site availability for that week-end let me know and I'll call tomorrow or Friday. They have the pond in proximity to the group site; a very clean rest room (one stall), but at the main campground at the entrance there are showers, etc......

Just a thought. Let me know.

I'm fine with the Wounded Warriors Project as a Charity. Kind of self-serving I guess, but there are so many younger Vets in need right now that I think it would be a real homerun.

Let me know on the DAR and I'll check it out. (I'm also fine with the Scout Camp if that's what everyone else wants).

Gil I already checked with DAR and if I had answered my phone with a number I wasn't familiar with we would have the DAR. As soon as I called him back (5 times with in 5mins, he was busy with another call.) We would have the DAR. He was talking to the person who took those dates as I was calling back. Grrrrrrr.

I have another location in Russel Mass that might work. I will also be putting a call into ashby.

Hey Mark,

I was thinking along those lines too. There is also October Mountain State Forest, Mt. Greylock Primitive Area, (but it's a 1.6 mile hike in), and also Clarksburg State Forest.

I guess it all depends on what geographic area we want to be in. Alex had a good idea on AlexandriaLand if Reason was down with that. Its a great area.

So I guess the bottom line is we have lot's of potentials, but this isn't helping Tim much. I'll check a few places tomorrow just to see if they are available and will send a heads up to Tim.

I'll second that. I will try even harder to get to the hang this year. I only went into the woods once last year.
