Good Morning,
Being in New England, where the weather seems to change every 5 minutes . I was wondering other New Englanders use for their Hammock/Trap/Bug Net setup?
Researching my first Hammock purchase.
Thanks

I have used a bunch of hammocks and they all work great with the right season. I have used a DIY gathered end hammock and DIY fronkey style Bugnet. I have used a Warbonnet Black Bird, XLC and Ridgerunner. They all worked great. The tarp is key and I have used a Warbonnet Superfly and a Hammock Gear Cuben Fiber 4 season tarp. My wife has used a DIY superfly clone that I made her with great successful. With that said it is how and when you use a certain type of gear as to what specific gear. Any of the pieces of gear I mentioned would work for you.
With that said May 15-17 there is a hang happening that you can come and look at all sorts of gear and try out.

LOL - Thanks!
+1 Warbonnet. I have an XLC 1.7 dbl and Superfly. I usually use a 3-season Yeti UQ, but sometimes carry an X-Therm instead, if i think i might be sleeping ont he ground or in a shelter. Works great for me, though it's all a little bulkier, heavier, and more expensive than I'd like.... but what isn't?

Free advice worth what you paid for it. ;-)
I am looking at the Warbonnet, and the ENO hammocks. The bug netting of the Warbonnet is really interesting. Seems to really keep it away from your face.
If you don't have a hammock by the hang I can lend you one for the weekend to try out. I have a couple extra ones.
As to the bug net if you have a ridgeline for the hammock that will help with keep the net off of you.

Takes a while to find the best setup. I would start simple. Gathered end hammock and a cheap tarp. You'll get a lot of different results depending on how you pitch the tarp and hang the hammock. My system is nearly the same year round except for bug nets in summer and extra insulation in winter.
