So many different methods! I'd venture to say most people have used quite a few different tarp tieout configurations before they settled on one--I know I have. They're pretty much all means to the same ends. 6 one way, half a dozen the other.

My only gripe with the pole pullout mod is that I use my hammock for semi-long distance backpacking and that is just too much weight to justify. When I was using it as a stationary bedroom for 5 months I probably could have appreciated it more.

Also I really like a low low low pitched tarp, so the V comes in super handy in those situations. I have done the CRL with dutch fly/biner and the two cord double dutch fly method as well. I honestly don't really know which I prefer for the ridgeline--knots or hardware--but I know I like the V. Try a few without breaking the bank and see what works for you!
    Keep on keepin' on.

An easier option that may work for you is UGQ Winter tarp. Comes seam sealed and has a pole mod. It is made in Michigan and I'm sure Paul or Missy can answer all questions. http://undergroundquilts.com/tarps/default.html I have a Superfly myself and saw the UGQ WTarp at the Michigan Chili hang a couple years ago and it was real nice. They are supposed to be using a lighter fabric now, not sure if it is on the WT.

@cjayflo Thanks for your insight. I have seen several video's of people using the pole mod and it definitely does give is plenty of room on the inside. I'll definitely try it when I get a chance.

WOW... thank you guys so much for all of you help. Taking the time to shed some light on the Superfly (or the UGQ Winter Tarp) for a newbie is pretty cool. I wrote everything down and now begin to weigh the pros with the cons.

Question... What site do you guys usually go to buy your lash-it, zing-it or Amsteel? And have any of you used Lawson's UltraGlide Bear Reflective line?

I still need to watch the video above. I added a lash-it CRL using Dutch tarp hook on one side and a wasp on the other, following a diagram Derek had on his ultimate hang site. I'm happy with the hardware, but this method doesn't lend itself to the snakeskins I have. Need to fiddle with other options or maybe someone here has the solution. I also got a stock CRL from Dutch for another tarp and may like that method better. Same HW but with prussics to attach to the ridgeline.

I also just added tarp worms to the bottom tie outs and really like those using Lawson lines to the stakes.

I'm happy I got the superfly, but also happy I got a cuben asym since I don't need full coverage most of the time.

I've got some of the UltraGlide reflective bear bag line arriving this week, but don't have any hands-on experience with it yet. It'll be for hanging my food bag. It looks like a nice product for that purpose.

Redden marine has good prices on zing-it and lash-it. Discount code "hammockforum" gives a 5% discount... And if you watch, they often run free shipping specials

Thanks for the Redden recrimination. I'll check through it later today.
