    XLC in multicam is beautiful

I thought long and hard about which multicam hammock to get. I wound up with the XLC because I can do what I want with it. If I feel like going out with just a single layer hammock, simple to hang, I can do that. If I need bug protection, got it covered. for when I expect high winds or cold, I have a cover. The simplicity of Bonefire hammocks really appealed to me but in the end I wanted the swiss knife of hammocks more. 3 weeks wait for a head right/feet left seemed forever but its here now.
I am keeping the cover as is for now, but I am considering adding a zipper in the form of a frown just over my chest. With the black bird models you lay almost right on the zipper and I like to side sleep that way. Unzipping just a touch may be all i need. Eventually I will have a multicam under quilt to match and I will mod the hammock body to nail the right shoulder of the underquilt where I want it.
I don't have the ideal trees in my back yard but I was able to dial it in enough to take a test nap. Temps were in the 60s and with the cover on I did not over heat. The multicam fabric is far more cotton like in feel than I expected.

Very nice, I have a sock from WB out of that fabric, I really like it. Thinking about ordering the XLC in camo.

Nice rig. I'm glad that you found something to your liking. I'm glad that you are getting out, as that's what this is about. If I can ever help you, let me know. Your questions made me think, and I like that.

Be very careful with that hammock. When you hang it, make sure and stay close...otw, you may turn around and not be able to find it. ;-)

I dig that rig. Beautifully subtle.

I am a new XLC owner (now wishing I had gotten multicam!) and find myself sleeping on the zipper with my left shoulder as you eluded to. I am also having trouble with my UQ slipping off my shoulder/coming up high enough and am curious how you plan to lock it in place. Permanent mod? Quick fix?

I need to get a new UQ first to make sure it works how I want it. It may require me to sew on a loop for the hook or I can install it as seen in the video.

I have seen those. But I have no idea how to sew and really don't want to jeopardize the integrity of my new hammock. I have considered using the ridge-line quilt hooks (no sewing) but since the bug netting is there....the hook would sit over the netting and then clip to the RL. Not sure if that would work well. Also, would hate to rub a hole in the netting from where the hook clips on.
