Hey guys, just wanted to make a thread showing those that may be interested in a BB how light they can get it by using different suspension options. Here goes mine:
BB 1.1 DBL layer + 2 16' lengths of amsteel for whoppies = 24.6

I would assume this is the weight without straps?

Yes this is the weight with 16 feet of amsteel on each end to make whoppie slings-it is a warbonnet 1.1 BB dbl layer
my wifes warbonnet bb dbl layer with 16 foot whoppies is 23oz! not fair lol, good for her though, she aint that strong. =)
Methinks that "real" hammock weight should include ALL the suspension...including the tree straps, 'biners, etc.

I just made them last night, stitched 6 feet huggers with nylon superstrong thread. My huggers weigh 35g each, they are lighter than 6 feet of WBBB hugger, but thicker (strange, very strange), i ordered the 1inch polypro in royal blue from strapworks for my kit. so + 2.4 oz for huggers that means:
my : WBBB DBL layer 1.1 + 16 feet whoppies + 2x 6 foot huggers = 27oz
my wifes : WBBB DBL layer 1.1 + 16 feet whoppies + 2x 6 foot huggers = 25.4
use trailsticks as toggles
where i save alot of weight is the tarp in spinn (10oz) and UQ, i use no hardwear on the tarp except 1 tiny jrb biner, and i use the yeti it is 12oz.
so for my summer setup i am running (with yeti + spinn deluxe):
27 + 12 + 10 = or 3lbs 1oz
Ok, I'm an ultralight weenie, so when I looked at your total weight I thought : Heavy!
But then I realized, Wait- that is for the the whole shelter and sleeping pad equivalent (the UQ.)
Back when I was a ground dweller my solo tent and pad setup was roughly the same, about 3 lb, plus I needed a whole sleeping bag. Using a top quilt in your set up will actually beat my ground set up when I include the weight of the sleeping bag I used.
Very nice!

My new BB(Just got it today) double layer 1.7 with adjustable webbing suspension, the new buckles and two biners was 2 Ibs. 8 1/2 oz. The biners are 1 3/4 oz. each.

Thanks, a nunatak bag with the pertex quantuam would make this setup insane light, as would the 1.1 single layer instead of double, but i like my pad option as well as the flatter lay, and i like my wallet not being empty. I use a jrb no sniv now when its cold, its around 20oz. The 1.1 would make my setup 2lbs 10oz lol, that is ul! Would make it easier to defend hammocks against sul no-believers. shun the non-believers! shun them!
Someday, when there is a softer cuben fabric and it becomes cheaper, i will copy the wbbb design, and yeti design, and make it in cuben. That will be insane. Hope it is stretchy enough.
