    Hello from Western Pennsylvania

    Hello,

I found my way over here after seeing the site mentioned in a backpacking/hiking/hammock camping video that I stumbled across on YouTube (may have been Syntax77 but can't recall). I had been reading a bit on hammock camping on BCUSA and started trolling around YouTube checking things out.

I am a complete noob when it comes to camping hammocks, but it definitely seems like something worth looking in to. It also seems like there are more differing options and opinions than you can shake a stick at.

I'll go back to reading and trying to better educate myself. I imagine I'll have a truck load of questions later

    Just wanted to say Hi

    Welcome to HF.
You might want to take a look at this book for a great start on all things hammock: Ultimate-Hang-Illustrated-Hammock-Camping-ebook. It covers most of the bases and has great illustrations. You can also check out the author's blog for more info.
Make sure you also catch shug's videos.
Those two things will provide a great start.
If you want to get some hands on time, or to see just about every available option in person, you should come to the spring MAAHA at Pine Grove.

Welcome from Florida. Several years ago I spent a bit of time in western Pennsylvania and thought it was very pretty there.
All of us were noobs at this game but you will become an expert quickly hanging around here!

Welcome from south central Pa, enjoy your quest to the ultimate hang. There is a group hang scheduled in April at Pine Grove Furnace State Park, check it out.
Every hike begins with the first step and ends with the last one, it is all the steps in between that create all the memories.
