This is what I've been doing for a few years now. Simple and works well for me.
Tree strap and loop on end of ucr are larksheaded together. Biner finishes the job at the tree.

Thanks for the suggestion of the Ashley stopper. Looks fairly easy to make, I'll see if it can be undone easily. I like to be able to tie the knot at different lenghts on different hangs, depending on how big the trees are so it needs to come loose pretty easy.

Your setup looks simple and sturdy. But I have tree straps with a loop in only one end and I like to avoid carabiners because of their weight. If there is an easy way to connect the loose end of the trees strap back to the treestrap itself (where you have your carabiner), this could be a good solution. I have dutch clips that could do the trick, but hey 18 grams penalty there. Thanks forthe suggestion though. Is there an easy to tie and untie knot as an alternative for the carabiner in the above picture?

A soft shackle (4g) might be the lightest way to complete my setup without hardware. I have not tried this. It would still require you to have a loop on both ends of your tree straps.

You could tie a knot in the tree strap I suppose. Be safe with whatever you choose to do.

I like lightweight gear, but the biners are so solid and simple that I keep using them. 23g a piece.
