    Sewing a Bridge Hammock's Webbing

I was wondering if anyone has technique for sewing the suspension webbing to the edge of the a bridge hammock--the first pass down the center before wrapping it in the hem. I've tried to do it multiple times, but it seems like the hammock body always manages to slide underneath and pull away from the outer edge of the webbing. Sometimes it slides so much threat the thread doesn't even catch the edge of the fabric.

I've tried using Wonder Clips to hold the fabric and the webbing together, but that doesn't seem to help much.

    Thanks for the help.

    Sincerely,
    Dave-O

I don't recall having a problem. I've probably used wonder clips and have just done it "free hand" as well. As long as you line the fabric up as you go a few inches in front of the presser foot it should be good. With a little practice, this can be done on the fly as you are stitching without stopping.

Getting it started was the hardest part. I clipped at the very end, put the clip flush with the back of the presser foot, did a few manual stitches, backed up and carefully kept the strap and fabric lined up by hand. You can't do this part fast. Just take your time. You might be trying to stitch too close to the edge. You are better off with a little too much than just the edge.
