    Amsteel weight

I realize the difference between 7/64 and 1/8 comes down to personal preference, but could anyone point me in the direction to the weight difference between the two sizes.

    Samson lists -

    - 7/64 as .3lbs per 100ft or .45kg per 100m
    - 1/8 as .5lbs per 100ft or .74kg per 100m

    So -

    - 7/64 = .048 ounces/ft
    - 1/8 = .080 ounces/ft

I'm surprised by that stat. I've held both, and one doesn't feel noticeably heavier than the other, especially in the lengths hammockers typically use them.

The 7/64 left my wallet a little heavier, which is what drove my decision.

7/64 is already strong enough, why go bigger? I wish they made amsteel smaller so i could shave off another oz or two. I've got my wbbb down to 24oz now (dbl 1.1)
