    I find ticks all year around here. At least the skeeters, deer flies and chiggers are not active yet.
    I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

    I see just as many tick in the winter as the summer they don't hibernate. The only time I don't see them is when it below freezing.

    So, looking into sites online it appears that ticks just die after they lay eggs. The eggs won't hatch till the temps and humidity are optimal. Sounds like humidity has a lot to do with the growth cycles of ticks.

    Anyone a tick expert and want to elaborate on this?
