    MN > SHT > ASAP?

I want to start doing some hiking on the SHT soon and want to know if anyone else wants to go with? Trail page says there's still some snow but I want to get out there asap. If anyone's interested in an early spring hike and hang on the SHT, please reply and let's see if we can get a weekend planed.
    Thanks!

I'm really open to suggestions. I want to wait till the snow is gone but I think the end at Duluth is nearly all melted. I want to hike the whole thing from Duluth to Canada, though starting from the north would mean less miles driven. However they have much more snow... So. Maybe a mix. I think the sections by Finland still have more than right out of Duluth. If interested parties live near Duluth it might be easy to squeeze in a weekend or extended weekend. I'm not looking to pound out a ton of miles, I'd say max 10 a day, might be pushing it if the conditions are wet still. Maybe, early April? Again, open to suggestions on all parts.

I was just up there from March 18th to March 20th. Snow is mostly gone so no snow shoes. The trail is VERY icy. I fell a few times. Also temps were pretty cold. Got down into mid-low teens during the night there by Beaver Bay.

All in all I had a great time and there are plenty of trees to hang from. I wouldn't try to go more than 10 miles a day since the trail conditions are very poor right now.

If you have any more questions about my experience on the trail let me know. I hiked from Gooseberry Falls to Beaver Bay so I can tell you what that stretch was like while I was there.

I am headed to the SHT June 5 to the 14 for 10 days with two friends. We are starting at Findland and headed South. Trail conditions should be good by then. Our destination is by Wolf Rock near Castle Danger which is south of Goosberry Falls. Our average miles are around 10 to 14 per day. We will have one cache of food on the way so we only need to carry 4 to 5 days worth of food at a time.

Was just on the trail in Finland for an overnight.
Icy trail. Bring ice spikes for a safer hike.
    It was wonderful.

Looking at this map anything south of Beaver Bay should be snow free
