Cool Hello from Fargo, North Dakota

I'm an old guy finally getting around to doing some hiking/backpacking late in life. I've always enjoyed outdoor activities and spent a lot of time in the woods when I was younger, but nothing crazy. Well now, I'm crazy and it's time to hit some trails.

I've just started doing some research and I'm planning some small hikes this summer with hopes of eventually doing some long distance stuff (AT) in the next couple of years.

I really like the idea of hammock sleep systems so I am here to learn as much as I can.

I must tease... Do you have to compete for trees in Fargo? Only kidding, I have spent a lot of time in that neck of the woods ) do you get to MN much? Lots of trees here...

Welcome from Sweden! A word of advice, take your time and try to figure out what should be best for you before buying to much gear. I went all in and bought stuff I wasn't really comfortable in. I would not have made the same gear decisions today as I did when I was starting out. Luckily the second hand market in the hammock community is quite active.
