WB Travel Net Question

As the warmer season draws nearer, I'm more often thinking about my bug net needs. I've been shopping around a bit, and was certain that I was going to get the Fronkey style from Dutch. Problem being, I really would rather have a zipper over the bottom entry of the fronkey. I have a 10.5' hammock and a 11'. I know 2qzq makes an extension, but my question is, do I really need the extension for a 10.5' hammock? It's my go-to hammock these days.

I haven't had any luck using my bugnet/wind sock on any hammock longer than 10ft. I have the 2qzq extenders and believe them to be a waste of money. There is so much sag in the longer hammocks that it will compress your underquilt on the inside of the bugnet when you get it.

Do you use a ridgeline? If so, how long is it? The Travel Net is designed for a ~100" ridgeline, but there is a little wiggle room. Otherwise, look at Wilderness Logics's bug sock, as gmcttr said. I have this one, too, and used it for hammocks up to 12'. It has a zipper, too. The only thing I don't like about it is, that the zipper is off center. On the other hand, you have the option to go for draw sting ends instead of velcro, which I would definitely recommend. The velcro has been damaging the fabric on the ends of my hammocks...

FWIW, the "bottom entry" is more of a side entry just like with a zipper. You pick up the bottom opening on one side and sit down into the hammock as usual. You don't have to 'crawl in from the bottom'.
