I'd suggest a fronkey-style net. Easy to DIY, inexpensive and really good bug protection.
You can search the site for it, Fronkey did an excellent how to video and there are several build threads.

I used CrypticCRICKETs method to make a Fronkey style bugnet. Super simple stuff. Walmart sheers are super cheap and readily available.

I have a Warbonnet Travel Net with the 2QzQ ldc extenders which are needed for 11' hammocks. Mine with extenders weigh in at 8.55 oz, but is a great quality and one of the lightest full nets with zipper out there. I've seen the fronkey styles but didn't like the elastic entry.

I use a cut in half bug net from a USGI cot net system. I found them on eBay for about $12. I use 4 wooden clothes pins to secure it on the ridge line ends and on each side just below the waist to the hammock. Its 95% coverage but I have no quarrels due to the price and effort involved.

That seems simple and cheap enough. Can somebody make me one of these?
