What gunner said. That's why I started with "Good find and score". It's very hard to find at WM so when you do, get it all. There are plenty of projects you can make.

My Walmart's (plural for all around me) haven't had any in year's that I have found. Although Firefly has found some last year at one of them. I check mostly 2 of them and nothing there.

Walmart bolts come in 2 sizes and the fabrics are always folded in half. The 48" smaller bolts are usually the cottons and such. The 60" are usually the synthetics like polyester and such. "Ripstop Nylon" is not found here, it's called "material from unknown source" just like a lot of their $1.50 fabrics. You'll need to learn about the different fabric types to find them.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

I got 4 yards of it the other day for $4.50. The stuff I got is gray. I like it because I'm just learning how to make stuff and I don't mind if I mess it up. Made a small stuff sack for my suspension components so far. I don't know how strong it is but you can't beat the price. Kinda wish I had just bought the whole bolt. I've looked at 4 or 5 Wal-Marts now and only found it once. One lonely bolt.

Years ago, walmart made an "improvement" by eliminating fabric sales from all stores. This caused a big (huge??) uproar and the department was reinstated a year or so later. But it was never the same. The so called "dollar bin" never had much after that.
My theory is that the people (buyers??) who had sourced the irregular (end of rolls, minor imperfections, etc.) ripstop and nysil had changed jobs, and the knowledge was lost forever from walmart.

I went back to grab, what i had found it was only approximately 2 yards. So the jack pot was not as good as I thought.

Jo-Ann Fabrics has a 50% off coupon and the sales associate told me that is ALWAYS available. I didn't have a working printer, but I took a picture of my computer screen and they accepted that. I bought 7.25 yds of purple ripstop.

That's great to know. I saw some very nice camo ripstop there but @ 7.99 a yard it didn't seem to make sense.

One time on a business trip I walked into a totally different Wal-Mart, I think I was in Vernon, TX. They had a bolt of the gray material, and I bought all of it :-) I make a point of checking out the Wal-Marts in different places, especially if it is in a part of West Texas.

    Take it easy,

I have some 60" wide gray rip stop. Not sure if its poly or nylon, but it comes in at 2.16oz per (approximate) square yard...so it may be 1.9. Who knows. Its being attached to an insultex UQ soon.

I have some very lightweight nylon, about 48" wide, I got from there too. Made a pillow out of it but it fell apart after about a month of hard use.

I stopped at a Walmart recently and they had more of the green rip stop, but I didn't buy it.
