From what I've been able to gather, the west branch is flat water. The rapids are elsewhere. I'm good with doing the Saco again regardless. Last year's trip was awesome. Or something in or closer to MA if that's what everyone needs.

Outside of the Saco, I don't know of anywhere that's got a similar policy as far as camping goes. In MA, technically anything below high water mark is public, but a large group camping may not fly. Also, this time of year everything is likely to be near or at flood stage so that wouldn't leave us much real estate anyway. That leaves finding routes with set campsites that will most likely require reservations and payment.

Yeah, I'm thinking an extended Saco trip is the way to go.

    Everyone good with that?

It's still a good ways up but well worth the drive in my opinion.

You should ask for a new deck.

Added a guest box to the spread sheet. I assume you guys going Friday night are staying at the campground by the falls?

Seems like we have quite a few people wanting to show up on friday evening. Do we want to camp at swans falls campground? Pretbek and I did this last year and got a nice shelter along the water with plenty of room for hammocks all around. It's $15 per person for the night.

Also, looking at the mileage, last year we did about 19 miles starting at swans falls and finished at brownsfield bridge. If we start at Swans falls again this year and go to Hiram bridge it will make it a total trip of about 34 miles. We can always start above the bridge too but then that would require some additional work with vehicles saturday morning as well as having to portage boats around the dam when we get there. If we start at swans falls the people that show up friday can spot their cars at hiram bridge so when everyone else shows up on saturday morning we can basically just push off and go. Last year was a pretty big delay wish spotting cars saturday morning since it was a decent distance to drive.

Open to ideas, suggestions, etc. Here's some maps and distances.

EDIT: Getting some mixed mileage calculations on the different sites/maps. Here is some decent detailed information next to the map on this page. Looking at this site it would be fun to do the whole entire thing starting at Redstone Bridge and going to Hiram. That would be around 40+ miles which i think is very doable. Even some small rapids in there
