    First Hang

I think this is where this goes. Already did the intro post.

I got my first Hammock and Tarp this week. The Warbonnet Blackbird 1.7 Single and the Edge Tarp.

I received it on Monday and couldn't wait until the weekend to use it. Luckily I had Tuesday off work. So I drove up to my favorite spot at night after getting off work and set up in the dark.

Even in the dark it was surprisingly easy, only a little trial and error on the adjustment. I may need to use some trees a little more spread apart next time.

But, it was the most comfortable thing I've camped in. I tried using a pad, but it seemed to negate the comfort. Luckily I had a spare sleeping back that I rigged up as a makeshift underquilt and in 45 degree weather it seemed to do the trick. Only got cold about once in the night.

Anyway here is the set up.

Thanks. I watched videos and read anything I could on it for about a month before I ended up ordering my hammock. Best decision I've made to my camping gear in a long time. Definitely gotta get an under quilt though. Time to get back to researching to decide what I'll need.

Nice rig. There's no going back to ground now.

Check the for sale section here. There are UQ's for sale at great prices lightly or hardly used.
