Adding zippers to a separating coil?

I had wanted to add 4 pulls (one set for each side) to a separating coil. I know I can add each one at either end to make one set, but is it possible to then add 2 more. I guess I could have each set facing the same direction. Or I could just go with the one set. considering i have already sewn 2/3 of the zipper on, another set up is not an option.

I am curious about this as well. The ones I purchased from diy gear supply (120" separating) have a stop where the zippers are so they don't fall off when not attached to the other half of the zipper. Do yours have the stop? Interested if this was filed down if I could add more zippers. Had seen somewhere about it being difficult depending on the length of the slide that feeds into the zippers. I didn't think that would be a big deal though since you could just zip the other sliders up to add more. I do know that Papa Smurf over at Dream Hammocks doesn't seem to have an issue adding zippers. http://www.dream-hammock.com/ExtraZipperSliders.html

You can remove the zipper stops, add new slides and then install new zipper stops or sew the fabric tape of the coil zipper to stop the sliders from coming off the end. It isn't too hard.

DreamHammocks used to have a how to for adding zippers. With their website update it appears to be missing, but if you were to email Randy I am sure he could give you some info.

no stop. Mine is a separating coil i bought by the foot. It sounds like you could do what I am and have 2 going the same way.

I understand but you can only add zipper pulls going in one direction. Well one direction from either open end. So if I have 4 pulls and wanted 2 sets on either side of the hammock I would have the zippers facing each other on both sides.

You can buy premade zippers. The have sections of certain lengths with how many pulls you need. I would have needed to know the exact length needed or made what I bought fit. I am sure there is a way because if you can buy it like that, then whoever sells them has done it.

I honestly just thought it was something I was so stupidly missing.

You can add as many pulls as you want, forwards or backwards. It's not complicated. Here's a video that shows (there are other videos, of course). I find it helpful if you leave one side of the zipper longer than the other side.
