Prepper vs UL hiker thread - nuked?

Did someone seriously erase the preppers thread? Sad cause good conversation and links are lost because of 4K protect eveybody mentality. Just curious.
I like reading stuff even though I dont agree with everything. Sensorship at work.

Mods have jobs and lives and we don't always have time to clean up threads and warn people as things happen. Sometimes when a thread gets heated the participants just need a little time to cool off.

The thread has been cleaned up and resurrected. Keep it clean and respectful.

As the original poster of that thread I don't quite see why it was completely hidden from public view?

You can PM or reply here.
I would like to know specifically what caused the severe censorship.
This is just so I'm aware and can remain a good member of HF. It's not to get convince you to change your mind or whatever. The thread had a good run. I just want to get your logic so next time I start a thread if I see the issues arising I can address them as the OP to help with moderation a bit.

    Thanks,

It's really all in the Terms of Service and has to do with the spirit of HF.

    Be respectful
    Keep it family friendly
    No firearms discussions
All discussions will be kept civil
    Don't intentionally place contentious posts
Please don't be offended if a moderator removes one of your posts from this section. Such decisions will be entirely at the discretion of the moderators.
    etc.

When the posters are unable to determine the limits, don't care to abide by the rules, or don't know the rules, the HF staff will step in. Sometimes it's easier to remove the entire thread then to have to determine on a post by post basis and remove 28% of the posts as was ultimately done in this case.

I thought 95% of the post where respectful... 5% was questionable at best

Didn't see it violating this anywhere

No specific discussion here other than "saying protection".... was that crossing the line? maybe... but I doubt it.

We where self policing, but I guess the mods could argue it's not our jobs to police?

This thread was not started to be controversial or to provoking argument but in the spirit of discussion... I guess I can how some took it this way and perhaps this is why? I did what I could to clearly prevent this but sometimes no matter what the OP puts in there people will go off topic

Oh, I'm not offended, I re-read the thread again 3 times tonight I don't see how in the last 5-7 posts after we self policed each other that it escalated to be removed so I was wanting a bit of insight to the reasoning of the moderator so I asked for a PM. I know the Terms of Service so re-posting them here wasn't needed but I'm sure others might need to know. So it was a good idea I'm sure to restate it once again.

I can see that. Thanks for helping moderate the forums. Now time to get back to hanging! the trolls can have their 28% take over! time to move on..Thanks again moderators for all that you do.

You re-read the thread after 28% of the posts were removed so of course you didn't find anything wrong.

This thread has run it's course, questions have been answered, it is now closed.
