Being that this would be my first large DIY project, and fairly new to sewing, I wanted to make sure I had a good idea of what was needed. So here is my best guess on materials (I tried to overestimate for newbie error factor). I want to make an 11' DL hammock with grey Argon 1.6 inside and Purple PolyD 1/4 outer. That way I can also reverse them depending on my mood. I would like to do the Dutch Buckle Suspension Kit. I also want to attempt the Fronkey style bugnet. Hopefully, if all goes well, I will have a matching stuff sack from the excess (again if all goes well)

    Hammock
4 yards of Deep Purple PolyD 1.4
4 yards Charcoal Grey Argon 1.6
Argon 1.6 Gray 701 Gutterman Thread

    Suspension
    20 feet of Kevlar webbing
    20 feet of silver amsteel
    20 feet black amsteel
    2 Dutch clips
    2 Dutch Buckles
    Pair of Double Hammock Hooks

    Bug net
8 yards of Nano no see um
    4 mini cord locks
20 feet of 3/32 shock cord.

    Accessories
    splicing needles
    10 inch loop turner
    25' orange dynaglide

Thanks! This is always fun. I'm sticking pretty much with my list from the first drawing, but changing the material. I have hammocks made from argon and polyD, so I'm going with NylonD 1.0 in grey.

I’d like to make an 11 foot hammock with knotty mods, a ridgeline organizer and a modified Fronkey-type black no-see-um bug net. Here is my supply list:

    4 yards of NylonD 1.0 in Charcol Grey/Grey 701
1 spool of Gutterman thread in Black
15 feet of 1.75mm Zing It (yellow) for ridgeline, prussic knots for organizer and stuff sack
5 mini cord locks (2 for knotty mods and 2 for bug net and 1 for stuff sack)
8 feet (?) of shock cord to fit mini cord locks (5 yards for bug net, 3 (?) for knotty mods)
8 yards no see um fabric (scraps will be used to make organizer)
12 feet of black premium webbing for tree straps
18 feet of silver 7/64 amsteel for head end whoopies (15’) and continuous loop (3’)
18 feet of black 7/64 amsteel for foot end whoopies and continuous loop
6 feet of blue 7/64 amsteel with which to learn how to splice
    2 whoopie hooks
    1 splicing needles
    1 10” loop turner
    2 .5” stainless steel S-biners for organizer

BTW, I'm NEVER mean. Sweet old granny person.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

    1 Spool Gutterman Thread Black
25 ft grey lash it for fixed structural ridge line and stuff sack draw string
1 titanium ridge line biner for removable ridge line
4 mini cord locks for doubled sided stuff sack and bug net
enough .51oz cuben and tape to make a double sided stuff sack
8 yards no see um for fronkey style bug net
20 feet 3/32 shock cord for bug net
50 feet 7/64 Amsteel Silver for 2x whoopieslings and 2x continuous loops

This is SO fun to think about. I am still relatively new to DIY, have sewn a TQ, camp pillows, and stuff sacks. Getting ready to start on two UQs. I also just placed a (for me) big order with you to upgrade the suspension systems on my two HHs. This hammock design would be for my 11 year old daughter to get her hanging with Dad and I (her and younger sister are still on ground in a two-man tent).

Overall, I'm thinking a double-layer 10ft gathered end hammock with fronkey style bug net, ridge line, continuous loop suspension with cinch bugs.

    Materials:
Cinch bugs with 15ft webbing and sewn on Dutch clips
    25 ft black 7/64th Amsteel
    8 yds - PolyD 1.2-Brick Red
    4 yds - Nano No-See-Um Bug Netting
    1 - 10" loop turner
    1 set - splicing needles
    25 ft Zing it (yellow)
1 - roll Gutterman thread (red)

Thanks to you and your daughter~!

Alright, I'm gonna throw my name in the hat this time. I know it's accepted by most that you can't sleep two people in a gathered end, but I've done it (never for an entire night but for a decent amount of time), enough to convince me that it is actually doable and can be comfortable enough. I want to make a wider 11 foot gathered end; add about a foot to each side so the hammock would be about 7' x 11'. I would do it by using a flat felled seam to attach a strip of fabric to each side of the hammock. My thinking is even if those seams let loose, which I wouldn't expect them to do, the center would still hold us long enough to bail out safely. I have abused my argon 1.6 and I'd trust it to hold a good 400 lbs. Though, I'm also not one to be overly concerned about my hammock dropping me...been there, done that plenty of times.

    List:
    4 yards black Argon 1.6
    4 yards grey Argon 1.6
I have everything else I would need to complete the setup.
    Thanks Dutch!
