Did a quick search and couldn't find anything on the vesta top quilt. Anyone have experience with them? I know it'll be heavier than a down quilt, but thats not in the funds right now and I car camp for now anyway. Plus I have some amazon gift cards so that makes this option even cheaper.
Is everyone ENO comment shy these days?
This looks like a reasonably good quilt, especially if you've got a way to save some dough on it. My guess is that its going to be more of top end of the 35 to 45 range quilt. Find a way to insulate yourself well on the bottom and you'll be fine at 35, I'm sure.

Seems like a solid choice. While I don't use much from Eno in my personal gear they are not cheap in manufacturing quality. Like the other post if you can get it cheap do it and then sell it later to fund something in the future
Go for it if you can save some money. As mentioned get some bottom insulation and you should be comfortable.

How much savings are you getting? Friends don't let friends buy ENO, as they say. It's not a good purchase unless you're getting a substantial discount. Even then, it's probably not a good purchase. I'd buy a used sleeping bag and use it as a TQ before I bought ENO insulation.
ENO insulation is known for underperforming, and you already know about the weight. The Vesta weighs 28 oz.; a similarly-rated 40* HG Burrow would weigh 11.6 oz., or 60% less (or is it 40%; anyway, it's a lot less). Besides, it won't have much resale value, so I don't buy the argument that you can resell it if you don't like it, and recoup much of your money. There's simply no market for used ENO gear (especially their insulation).
The list price of the Vesta is $169.95, but an HG 40* Burrow is just $219. So for 23% more you could have a big-boy TQ as opposed to a beginner TQ. If I was paying around $90 to $100 for the Vesta I'd consider it.

Also, the reason you didn't find anything on the Vesta TQ is because nobody on HF buys ENO insulation - not a good sign.

Personally I think you can do better for cheaper. What about a molly mac gear top quilt? Similar dimensions, rated at around freezing, very light and only $100. Here's a link. http://www.outdoortrailgear.com/feat...r-top-blanket/
I do have an under quilt. Jarbridge. And I do have enough in amazon gift cards to get it for less than $100. Just not sure about it since I haven't read anything about it on here.
