Warbonnet 3-season Yeti UQ vs. JacksRBetter Greylock 3 UQ? Which one to get?

    Hello fellow hangers,

I searched around a bit to see if there was a comparison between these two products and I didn't come up with anything. So, I am asking for your advice and input. I have a WBBB hammock and I'm trying to decide on what UQ I should purchase. I've narrowed it down to two products. I am a UL backpacker but I would sacrifice some weight for warmth. Has anyone tried both of these UQs? I want to know which one feels warmer or is better for coverage and if there are any tips or suggestions that can be made before I take the plunge. Either way I think both products are great and I'd be happy with either one. Thanks for the help.

Well. The Yeti is designed to fit the Blackbird perfectly. However, if you're looking for more coverage, the Greylock quilts are cut a little longer. They're also fairly wide as compared to the Yeti.
Always last to the camp site.

If you get the Greylock quilt you can also use on a bridge hammock, should you decide to go that route someday. A yeti will only work on a gathered end hammock.

I've used both on a Blackbird. I still have the Greylock and no longer the Yeti.

Both are fine quilts, but the greater coverage of the Greylock won me over. I have pretty wide shoulders so that was likely a factor.

There was definitely less fiddle factor with the Yeti, which was nice. Once the Greylock is dialed in, it's great.

I've never used a Yeti, but looked at it (and lots of others) when I was researching my underquilt purchase. I ended up with the Greylock 3 because of the slightly larger size. It seemed like the best ratio of size:warmth:cost at the time.

I faced the same decision. I ended up buying the Greylock 3 and have been well pleased. I know it's not a direct comparison, but I think Water Monkey (I believe that's his name) did a video comparison between the Yeti and the Phoenix. I think the Phoenix at that time had similar dimensions to the Greylock 3 (Greylock 3 is now longer). He does a good job showing how the two different sizes compare. I've thought about buying the Yeti for a summer quilt since it is smaller and because I just think the name 'Yeti' sounds cool. Good Luck with your decision!

Afaik the Yeti works with a bridge hammock, too. I think I saw this in one of Shug's videos. Not sure, though.
