If you get some bicycle inner tube and cut it into rubber bands they will last a very long time.

Thank you for sharing. Simple solution.
I use these while scuba diving to hold my backup lights in place and old car tie inner tube slices to go on my deco bottle to hold the hose. I haven't considered using them for camping.
