Hey friends, I am planning a trip to see my Granny in Natchitoches, LA this summer and don't have a place to stay. I was hoping to camp but the only sites I can find online are R.V. Parks or are too far out. If any has experience in that area and has suggestions, it would be appreciated.

That area is in my bucket list. Here's a laugh for you. I am bilingual , so when I first saw this name I said it phonetically as we do in Spanish: Nah-chi-toh-chess - much to the amusement of others.
I soon learned to say nah-ka-tish

A few miles west there is a town in Texas called Nacogdoches, pronounced just like it sounds: Nacko-doatches.
I was born in Lufkin, just a few miles away. My dad was a forest ranger in the Angelina National Forest.

Only $10 a day, the web page call this campsite at Kincaid Lake Primitive Camp "very primitive."

Thanks to all for these hits. Now I have some real options to consider! I'm pretty excited about this trip. Too bad it's still about 2 months away...
