Flight Jacket question -- Which to get?

Finally saved up the money to get a top quilt. Really interested in getting a Flight Jacket TQ but unsure which one to get, the 30* or the 40*

I'll be using it in Western and Central NY, 3 season, mainly late April through to Early October. Not 100% sure if I'm a warm or cold sleeper, to be honest. It'll be paired with a 3 season AHE Jarbidge which is rated down to 30/25ish.

Any advice I can get would be great. Really stuck on which one to get.

I went with the 20° Flight Jacket. It seems to be the popular 3 season choice. I've used it now a couple of times outside down to 30° and up to 50° and found it to be very comfortable.

no question, go with the 30*. The 40* is nice for mid summer, but if your going into the shoulder seasons you'll want a 20*-30* quilt.

Couldn't agree more, the 30* is a fantastic quilt for most three season users...

Yep! My 30* Flight Jacket has served me well. In the mid 50s loosely over me in my BVDs (no, no revolting pics!) In the low 20s snapped shut with the neck closed down.

Hard not to go wrong with the 20* ....If your pushing things in the spring and fall the 20 will give you a nice buffer as a forecasted 30 night could turn into a 20-25 under clear skies.
If you're never planning much under 40* then go with the 30.
But allow some buffer relative to what temps you plan to be in and choose accordingly

I had a big debate between the 20 and 30 F. I picked the 30 for my needs. I can always vent if it is a bit too warm, I could add if I accidently get into colder conditions. Fall & Spring I never know what I might get into. Deep Winter in Oregon is fairly damp where we Hang the most, so I need extra warmth most of the time. I am a cool sleeper, 30 F works very well for me.

I would put the extra $ into the UQ, in my opinion that is where you need the warmth,

I have the 20 with the snap footbox. Works great as you can vent in warmer weather.

I went with a 20 degree and extra ounce in the footbox. I also have it paired with a three season Jarbidge. Works great in exactly the situations you described. Heck I use it in the summer also and just roll it down.
