Question FL> Looking for hang site in Ocala National Forest

Me and a couple of guys are looking at doing a small hang for a couple days in the Ocala National Forest near one of the Springs. We are simply looking to chill, swim, fish, campfire, relax, no hiking, just be lazy . We were just wondering if anyone had any specific sites that are nice and shady, have bath houses or at least flush toilets, not sure if we are looking at primitive sites just yet. I know we have had some hangs in the forest but not sure on the type of site

Well, my favorite site in the Ocala National Forest is Hidden Pond, but that's a primitive site, however there is Juniper Springs Recreation Area nearby which is an established campground with showers, flush toilets and some really nice springs. Also in the vicinity is Alexander Springs, also an established campsite, along with a first magnitude spring.

I've hung at Juniper Springs. Bring or buy wood at the store. Lots of families/kids swimming. Not a wilderness experience at all but the camp sites have good trees for hanging...

Alexander springs is nice in the forest. You can rent canoes by the hour for fishing. Close enough to drive to juniper or silver Glen for a day trip. You camp pass should get you in at no extra charge to those locations. Call ahead and ask to make sure.
