    anyone tried dyneema tree straps?

Hey guys got to thinking about dyneema and was wondering if it came in webbing for and it turna out it does seems mostly used for climbing but I am wondering has anyone tried using any dyneema webbing for tree straps? I found a few different types of webbing OnLive all dyneema although none of them have the weight per foot that I found but all were 3k+ break strength... I'm really interested if anyone had any news thanks guys!

With all due respect, It seems you're looking for a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

What do you expect to gain over polyester straps?

I believe RSGary has some 3000# polyester material. I don't see what you would gain either.

Dutch has Kevlar straps now. Pricey (90 cents/foot vs 28 cents/foot) but for that gram weenie it is half the weight of his polyester straps (3.3g/foot vs 7g/foot)

Yah I'm not really looking for them for sure I was just curious how they would do maybe a tad bit less stretch don't absorbed the water when it's raining would be nice possibly a little lighter ect.. but I don't really want something like the python straps because I don't like that type of suspenssion like the Atlas straps slap straps ext.

I don't know where you can buy dyneema webbing be the foot for DIY purposes, and I haven't seen anything close to 1" wide.

All the pre-made item's aren't long enough to adapt either, and again, not at least 1" wide.

Dyneema straps would solve the problems created by Kevlar straps: Stronger, lighter, hydrophobic, and more UV resistance. http://www.bainbridgeint.com/Variant...tem=PRD-900174
