I built an interesting stand a while back. Pretty simple stuff - aluminum pipe with two eye hooks at the top. Off one eye hook two ropes to spikes in the ground of 2 foot rebar section. At the bottom rebar in the ground and put the pipe over it. The pole leans away from the hammock. Sorry if that's a lot of words to describe it, but it worked great and I used it often at campgrounds to stand in as the correctly spaced second tree. I often stay at campgrounds with the kids, and finding a site with TWO trees correctly spaced was usually difficult. but ONE tree...that's a different story!
I sent them an email to check shipping and I'll wait to see what they say.
I've been eyeing the handy hammock, for camping and hiking mostly.. but I wouldn't be able to use it on the deck, or inside. The ones on amazon are a bit bulky, but they fit that niche..
I've seen that. I wondered wether the additional adjustment made this a bit wobbly?
I assume you had to drill a hole for the eye hooks? .. how big a piece of rebar did you use?

Good evening freeballer. We just stumbled on this post. We wanted to make sure that you had indeed sent us an email? We have not received an email from anyone in Canada concerning shipping a stand. Can you please confirm that you sent it to [email protected]?
