nice trip report jax you boys certainly seem to eat very well ,I have to be very careful what I make to eat ,where I go there is a healthy grizzily bear population, i have been run out of camp more than I care to remember, have you guys got any bears in your neck of the woods ?
Mostly any place that I go, I only have to worry about Black Bears. Fortunately the places I've been have a very low population of bears , except for the Pine Mountain Trail where we saw bear poop about ever six feet on the trail .On that very same trip Rivendell Refugee had an encounter after he left the privy. I'm pretty sure after he opened the door to leave the privy and saw that small merry band of bears he had to return to the privy to let loose a bit more.
lol I don't blame him,we have a local black bear we I camp ,and I have seen her for about 6 / 7 years ,she dosnt bother anyone ,but when you don't see her is when I start to worry ,it usually means the big boys are in the area..,I love your trail system looks pretty well maintained ,when I used to hike up here in the mountains we kinda had to find our own trail ,we have trails in the mountain parks of course ( Banff Waterton etc ) but then you run into a lot of people, plus our national parks have brought a rule ,4 people min to go on some of the trails,i guess 1 or 2 people is not enough to feed a hungry bear lol, keep up the great videos I look forward to seeing them
Thanks for sharing this great location. I might add it to my upcoming MC trip after the Red River Gorge Area in Kentucky before heading back east into the Great Smokie Mtn's then to Pisgah National forest, Linville NC. Then again I'd better check how many more miles that will entail.
Q: Any restrictions or reservations required or just show up and camp?
