Used for two weeks during a trip to Mexico. Sold it to a forum member who had concerns about the stitching in one of the ends, and returned it. I wrote Shane at BIAS, and showed him some photos of the stitching, and received this message from him:
"I have seen some pics from customers in the past with concerns... all had just wanted to give a heads up and were going to let me know if there were further problems. It has been a while since I've heard anything from any of them. As of now I don't know of any failures with them. From what I've seen, the "stress" marks are in the center of the ends and I am assuming they are just from how each person lays, and due to the fact the fabric does have some give. The "weak link" in the hammock would be the stitched areas due to the thread "opening" the fabric up a bit. Given everything I've seen, I wouldn't hesitate in using it."
I would feel confident in taking this hammock to day or weekend hikes, but maybe not to longer trips.
Anyhow, because of the above, I will take it back and issue a refund minus shipping if the buyer is not happy. Refund offer good for two weeks. Includes amsteel continuous loops and stuff sack. I can also provide a set of DIY amsteel whoopie strings, a pair of six-foot polyester tree straps, and a pair of aluminum toggles at additional charge.
