Here's the tarp part of the latest DIY. There is a matching hammock (so as not to upset any feng shui going on) that goes with this--hope to have some pics of it soon.

Is that grey grosgrain around the edges? If so, where did you get it?
Yes, it is gray grosgrain on the edges AND the ridgeline. Grosgrain was from Joann's.
very nice work!

Thanks, Bill. Actually made this for my son who will be heading off to college soon. Funny story there...It is the school colors of the school he chose to go to--purple and gray--Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. After he finally made his mind up I ordered all the supplies to make the hammock and tarp. 2 days later he was going thru his e-mail and noticed there was some mail in his junk folder. He went to the folder and opened up the mail; he was accepted for an ROTC scholarship. However, one of the stipulations on the scholarship is that it has to be used at an in-state institution; which Spring Hill is not--we live in FL. Fast forward 5 days later...he's now enrolled at Florida State and it looks like we'll just have to eat the enrollment deposit to Spring Hill. A nice conundrum to have...
My Purple Palace has pink thread.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!
That is my wifes favorite color, nicely done.
Straight out of Clayton.
Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.
I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
Very nice work! Your suspension is interesting. Looks like it is easy and fast to deploy, just click in one side and figure 9 the other. I like it.
Cheers
