Is anyone familiar with the GO! Hammocks on Kickstarter?

    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...the-go-hammock

They seem pretty nice. Good size, especially the width (70"!). I still have not made my first purchase so I am no expert but wanted to know what yall thought. As of right now I'm considering starting small with a Dutch hammock or going all out with a Dream-Hammock.

Nothing original going on there. I'd stick with a Dutch hammock.

Almost looks like a HF member there with all the listed features. I assume the rope and cheap carabiner come from the same place as the hammock and the suspension is from a different place. As SS said, nothing original. Go Dutch and support a US made product. Pretty good guess the Go hammock is made in the same factory as other parachute nylon hammocks

I'd recommend going with Dutch as well. You will get a quality product from a reputable cottage vendor. Or get both Dutch and a DH (it's always nice to have an extra ). If you don't like either, the have great resale value and will sell here very fast.

The only thing here that seems to be different are the width and the fabric tensioner. Does anyone know if any of the cottage vendors here would made something that wide as a custom order?

The fabric tensioner might be able to be replaced through DIY with binder clips and shock cord. If the binder clips aren't strong enought some other kind of clip, or just put in a grommet.

The fabric tensioner sounds like a Knotty Mod to me. Dream Hammock has some fabrics up to 72 inches.

    So.

We just plain don't allow any more hammock vendors around here?

Great way to expand the hobby.

Buy one and give it a review.

Can't recommend anything from just an ad. Everyone's product is New, Improved, Groundbreaking, and/or best, in their own ads, so, atm, you go Dutch, Dream, BIAS, SLD, WL, WB, Meck, Shell, or any of the, other, mirad, of proven. well reviewed Cottage vendors.

These folks learned a lot from other members right on this site. They interface with the community, some on a daily basis, and are accessible, fist hand, to answer questions, and glean insight into the design of their future products, from feedback, requests, and suggestions.

It's not that new vendors are not welcome. I've seen plenty of kickstart and other startups grab a shipping container of imports, write it up as the next coming of age, only to offer almost the same products you can get from any of the Big Box Outs. These do appear to be wider, and longer than most, but lets just see if REI and WW, Eno,GT, or HH, comes out with a wider/longer version of previous years offerings.

I'd be laying money on it.
