    crazy idea or real anwser?

Ok being a noob at this hammock thing and trying to solve some problems I got a burst of inspiration or idiocy ( not sure which one yet).

Problem: Getting into a HH and flipping around like a fish for a few minutes to get under the covers or at least getting the covers under you.

Crazy solution: Putting on a backwards Snuggy! Yep I said Snuggy. If you put it on backwards first before sliding into you hammock you'd be set.

If you have a sleeping bag it's pretty easy to step in it while in the slit and pulling it up around you, sitting back and into postion.

Not sure how much warmth the Snuggy thing will provide for you.

Not to mention looking like the member of a cult!

    ... Sorry ... couldn't resist it ... OK ... didn't even try

personally I think it would work just fine depending on the weather. 65-70* and you're all set.

    No flamin here!
I did take a sleeping bag liner, cut a head and arm holes at the foot end and wore it like a dress!

Many people do get into the sleeping bag before they get into the hammock. That's one of the rdeasons people carry tyvek pieces to put on the ground. (Not the only reason mind you). Personally I gave up on tryig to use the sleeping bg as a sac even in my home sleeper. I open the bag up and use it as a quilt. Some folks don;t like the extra bulk that goes with that. But I like the ability to roll and tuck the extra bag.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I did it this summer in my basement:

I was still cold on my back unless I had an underquilt (or a sleeping bag rigged as one).

With insulation under the hammock, all you need to do with what's on top is tuck it down beside you.

That's why I use a poncho liner on the diagonal... there's plenty of stuff to tuck in beside me.

There is a reason quilts excell in hammocks, as well as under them...

Solve the bottom insulation however and then use your bag as a quilt on top......Persisting in the exercise of getting in and out of a zipped up bag is an exercise in frustration, if not madness...But hey, some actually like the drill.
