    Foothills Trail Trout Fishing

This Florida Boy is venturing into unknown territory in Mid May 2015, I was going to try and hike the entire trail in 6 days, but I think that might be to demanding for a flatlander. Therefore I'm reconsidering my trip and decided to turn this into a fly fishing trip instead. What I need are suggestions of which streams are best to fish, those west or east of Whitewater Falls. Specific stream names would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Thanks SwinginIt, from the number of responses, looks like there should be very little fishing activity in the area.

I don't think you're gonna find many fisherman here but don't be discouraged. Take a look around on the GON forum (lots of info there). There is in fact excellent flyfishing on the Chattooga. Check the regs because one reason the fishing is good is because of the delayed harvest restrictions which usually end some time in May. I haven't had the opportunity to fly fish it but have been able to feed myself with fresh trout while camping. The area is beautiful! enjoy your hang time and hike regardless

"Georgia Outdoor News Forum"- they have a flyfishing section where you can get info about the Chattooga
