Someone on HF said he was able to compress his hammock in skins into a 6"x10" zippered pouch from Kifaru. I ordered it from his link, but as I was checking out I saw that it comes in different fabrics. Mine is like cordura but now I'm not sure if I ordered the right one! Haven't tried it out yet.
Try a slightly larger stuff sack. I know it adds weight but it's easier. Or if ultra ultra light skip all stuff sacks etc and just use your pack.
Why would have have to put it in a stuff sack? I just fold it up and wrap the ridgeline around it. If its wet, I put it under one of my pack compression straps, and hike on. I was able to get mine into the sack with a lot of effort, and I thought...why am I doing that?
I coil my tarp (in skins) and just fit it all into the large net pocket on the back of my pack...drainage, doesn't take uo space inside the pack.....
