    Thumbs up

Ive also seen some people tape the seams out and apply the siliscon with a foam brush too.I think the tention is the key along with the silicon, with baby power.

I string up the tarp w/ ridge line pulled fairly tight & brush back & forth w/ the foam brush, forcing the thinned sealer into all seams & needle holes (extra attention at any pull tabs, as said above).
The gas used to thin the silicon actually blends the newly applied silicon w/ the factory applied silicon in the tarp material.

Super Glue or Crazy Glue works great for a seam seal

first I've ever heard of that. I wouldn't do it because anytime I have tried to use more than a drop of that stuff it gets brittle and breaks. I wonder if we are talking about the same stuff.

    Super glue isn't waterproof.
    It's all in the reflexes.

If you believe this Wiki page...
A normal bond reaches full strength in two hours and is waterproof.

But is it still waterproof after it has been flexed?- that is, the fabric thing's seams have been rolled up and straightened out a few times?

    No.

SuperGlue works best when two clean, rigid faces come together. That kind of joint has a lot of inherent structure... fabric seams have little structure.

Plus the joint works best when it is close, tight and non-porous. I don't see seam sealing here at all. Has anybody else had success with this?

The only thing I have found SuperGlue to work on is ....... skin.

Works marvelously to glue my fingers together.

Does it actually work to keep anything else bonded??

Along that line I have read that in Europe they use SuperGlue (well probably a kissing cousin) instead of sutures.

They found that it works marvelously on skin also.
Those who sacrifice freedom for safety, have neither.

It may be urban legend but it's my understanding that it was invented to replace sutures. I have found it to be the most over-hyped product short of snake oil.
