April 2015 Linville gorge nc trip

Went to Linville gorge nc this weekend. Had a great time with hammock and tarp setup. Weather was sunny and warm 70 on friday. Got up to rain on Saturday but did not last long. Hiked on the east side from Shortoff to the top of table rock and half way back. Stayed Saturday night in hard rain storm. I should have seam sealed the new tarp before this trip. Still made out ok. I took care of that when I got home. Nice weather on the way out on Sunday. 19 miles total trip. Man its great to get out and enjoy life.

image.jpgThere was no smoke and the Trails I walked were open. Went from wolf pit road up to MTS trail over shortoff to table rock parking area. Hiked to top of table rock. They were working on a new info sign at table rock parking area and had trail crews working on water run off. It was a great trip and I could not see any new burn areas than I have been seeing in the past Year.
Shug thanks for all the videos love them and a lot of info.

Linville Gorge is on my multi-day trip short list. Looks like a great place, can't wait to get a trip together and head down there.

The fire was on the south east flank ... really didn't get to the wilderness area ... thank God!
