    Finished DIY mega-OGEE silnylon tarp

Is there a place we post finished DIY project pics?

    Here it is:

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...hmentid=107858

I did it in a way too big hurry and it shows but still looks and works great. My son is using it on his AT thru, at least until hot weather hits. Here is what he said about it in his journal:

Rain woke me up last night at about 3 am. In the morning, another hiker asked if I stayed dry. Uhhh, duh? I have this huge tarp and I know how to use it, of course I stayed dry. Apparently some other hammockers try to get away with a minimalist tarp for rain protection, and then complain when they get wet. Not me - I've weathered multiple storms already, and I haven't gotten wet yet. The only time I'll get wet is when I gamble it won't rain, and lose. Although, when it's warmer, I may switch to a smaller (lighter) tarp .... but for now, hypothermia is about two or three bad decisions away, so I won't tempt fate.

Thanks to all for suggestions, comments and much more. I also did a custom dry bag for his travel guitar but suspect that may not be hammock related...

He would probabaly not be happy and dry without those on this forum!

No tarp is too big if it keeps you dry and you're willing to carry it. Nice job!

Good looking tarp! Glad to hear it's working out well for him.
Two heads are good, three are great, but all heads at hammockforums is the best case scenario!
