Video: Superior Hiking Trail - Crosby Manitou to Caribou River

My first time shooting video on the trail - learned a bunch of what not to do - had a great solo trip regardless of how it was documented. Thanks for watching.

Great video, always great getting out in some solitude. I'm itching pretty bad to get back up to the SHT. Care to elaborate on some of your lessons learned on the trip?

Good job! Enjoyed the scenery and the music--probably not as much as you, but still appreciate the trip.

Hey HikeNBike, that's the section I clear for the SHTA from Crosby to Caribou. I plan to head up for a recon in the next week or so, come across any messes or major blowdowns? I got it pretty clean last fall but the winter I'm sure wrecked some havoc. Great video by the way.

Trail was in really great shape - I can't remember anything that needed to be addressed right away. Thanks for clearing!

It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet

The lessons I learned were about documenting with video. I found it helpful to have a plan. My goal was to provide something my mother could watch. She's older and has limited mobility....and has also never done anything remotely like backpacking. I wanted to provide a chronological account that shows the rhythm of the days, etc... I also found that my old Olympus TG-1 waterproof camera does not have the awesome image stabilization of the GoPro camera series. Youtube will stabilize the posted video but the image quality suffers.

I really enjoy the videos from forum member and youtube channel 'maztrain'. Very different from the Shug style videos which I also really enjoy...but I think Shug style videos are best left to Shug himself.
