    Yukon XL from woot

Good day ladies and Gentlement. Recently Woot had the yukon hammocks on sale.... again. So I picked one up for the wife and my youngest son. I also grabbed an XL for me. So here's a little bit about it:

The Hammock comes in a pretty compact sewn-on pouch. Packed up, it's smaller than my bear grylls hammock.

They Say it's 138 inches. I call BS.

76" wide my butt.... I'm 73 inches tall....

It's not even as long as my Bear Grylls, which is disappointing.

Now here's my real problem with it. I put on my 10ft fixed length ridgeline (thanks to dutch) on it. when I lay straight in it, the ridge line is taught and just like it's supposed to be. The problem is that because of the length this isn't over comfortable.

I tried a left hand lay (which is usually how I lay in my BG) and check out what the ridge line does. I think there is something wrong, as it does not do this on my BG hammock. The sag is so bad that it may as well not even be on the hammock.

The stock attachment points are JUNK. it's a cotton/nylon blended rope attached via a larks head loop. and the metal o-ring (it's not even a d-ring or carabiner) weighs a lot. I've already ordered a set of amsteel continous loops, cinch buckle, and tree straps from Dutch (my third order this month). I've got my skeeter net picked out and am ordering today.

Chances are, my son will inherit this one and i'll buy a hammek netty. either that or a hammock bliss sky bed bug free.

You have a nice hammock angle of 30-35 degrees and your RL should be sagging at those angles.
When the RL comes into play is when the trees are too far apart and you have a 15-20 degree angle and your hammock does not have enough sag to be comfortable.
This is when the SRL does its job and keeps the proper sag. hth

Same one I ended up with! Dutch ridgeline, whoopies/hooks, and knotty mods to keep the foot of green on each side out of my face and from flapping around.

What are these knotty mods you speak of?

Basically just putting a length of 3/32 shock cord in the hem near the head and/or feet to take up any extra, floppy slack.

I can't tell on my phone, is that just a knot in one end?

Part of your ridgeline sag is because your 'dutch' non-adjustable is too long. SRL is supposed to be 83% of length at the attachment points. @92.13" is what I get.

No I think OB is right on this one. Looks like proper hangle, SRL should not be tight.

My Dream Freebird is the same way at home. I used the hang calculator for my anchor placement and the angle is correct.

Most often when I set up in the woods, and spread anchor points, it's tight.
